Prevention is responsible for interpersonal relationships. Anyone with a third line in their Profile, and anyone carrying the 18/58 channel, will always run into what doesn't work — constantly dealing with what needs fixing, always spotting flaws in the world around them. It matters that they understand this is a genuine gift; without them and their knowledge, no one would help the rest of us avoid making the same mistakes over and over.

Prevention says, 'don't go there, you'll get into trouble.' Love drives it, in the end — 'I love you, so please don't go out tonight.' 'I won't let you take that risk, because I love you...' and so on. This is a cross that genuinely cares, and that's worth remembering.

Underneath it all, at the deepest level, gate 18 sits and says, 'wait a minute, wait a minute, something's wrong here' — that's exactly what it's for.

This cross shows up strangely in relationships too: 'I genuinely care about you, so I have to tell you — don't move in with that person.' Prevention often gets tangled up in the more personal corners of people's lives, especially their relationships.

With the conscious Sun in gate 17, this cross is loaded with opinions — sometimes unfounded, but plenty of them. These people won't let you make a mistake, won't let you enter the wrong relationship, won't let you fall out of the flow. It can look deeply limiting, in the end, but they do it because they love you.
