Gate 58, the gate of vitality, gives this Cross its name. Gates 17 and 18 drop out, replaced by 48, the Well, the gate of depth, and 21, the gate of control, the Hunter/Huntress. Gate 58 carries a pressure: 'you have a source of energy the logical process needs — we need you to identify with something so we can access it.' Juxtaposition adds that this person is full of vital energy but insists on controlling their own life, because that's what their unconscious dictates.

So trying to pull one of these people into a project produces a very different equation than you'd expect. With Right Angle you might just stumble into them and say 'wow, you have exactly the right energy for this.' Here, that doesn't work — the answer is always 'fine, I'll give you my energy, but I need to run the process, because I want my own decisions carried out.' They can look like they have exactly what you need while withholding it until you hand them the leadership role: 'okay, you're in charge of this part.' It works beautifully once you find someone genuinely moving in the same direction.
