Cycles gives us a deep understanding that all we really need to do is keep moving through cycles continuously. This becomes the incarnational theme itself: constantly beginning new cycles. What matters here is continuing to launch, to work, to transform, because that's exactly what continuity actually is. Gate 32's own name, Duration, tells us the only constant is change — great continuity as continuous change, as an ongoing process.

Cycles brings the energy for transformation, but that transformation is aimed at building industry and infrastructure for material society — succeeding, and never quite knowing defeat. On an instinctive level, since the 32/54 channel governs instinct, our deepest fear here is extinction. Because the fear of extinction is the deepest instinctive fear we carry, the capacity to move through cycles is what saves us. The Format channel governs the process of maturing empirically — succeeding at being human means being born, living a life, and dying: a genuine continuity of beginning, middle, and end.

Once a cycle finishes, the next one can be built on that foundation — that's the essential point. Earth's cycles lead toward the opportunity to successfully start a new cycle, each time with growing support. You'll notice that interpersonal crosses always carry the ability to seduce others into their own mechanism, pulling them onto their side. Here we see a shift from organizing business or money from the top downward, all the way to the very bottom, where new demands finally get voiced — materialism arising straight out of the Root Center itself, out of what we might call the left angle of achievement.

This achievement is exactly what lets these people move upward, transforming from the Marrying Maiden into the Empress. Moving up, gaining recognition, climbing the hierarchy, they receive material reward for it. With gate 53, they fit perfectly into hierarchical structure — all they need is a new beginning. Moving from assistant manager to manager is exactly that kind of beginning. Moving up this way means climbing the ladder, one rung at a time.
