That takes honesty with yourself. It's very easy to dress up inaction as laziness or fear. But there's also genuine inaction that comes from understanding — when you know for certain the time isn't right yet.
The skill of judging the value of action, or of holding back, is something that comes through experience. You learn through trial: times you stepped in and it worked, times you stepped in and regretted it. That experience accumulates and becomes your inner compass.
