Full breakdown

Crossing into the left angle brings us to Demands. It's one thing to point at something and say, 'look, there's a problem here.' It's another to demand that something actually be done about it. This is a protest movement in miniature: those who demand say, 'we require action, a solution, a fix, a system of control.' Imagine living inside that, understanding how things really stand, and how important it feels to these people to fulfill their role.

Remember something about the nature of logic: it's starved of energy and searches for it constantly, always looking for support. These people don't ask for your support — they demand it: 'listen carefully. We need to do this right now!' They demand it.

Because they demand it, they inevitably look like they're seizing control, which causes real trouble. Remember, gate 21 sits unconscious in this design, so they aren't aware they're constantly controlling, or trying to. They aren't doing it consciously. When they issue their demands, they're really trying to make necessary corrections on the collective's behalf — and the response they get back is, 'you just want power. You're grabbing for control. You're a bad person.' They get harshly criticized, because they're genuinely misunderstood.

They have no motive to seize power, but they have every reason to insist that something be done. 'Somebody clean this mess up!' Walk into a restaurant when something's spilled and no one cleans it, and eventually someone near the puddle shouts, 'is anyone going to deal with this?' That's a demand, plain and simple. If you're a Generator carrying this cross without clarity, this can be deeply frustrating, because you're constantly trying to voice your demands through action and speech, and constantly meeting resistance instead, with everyone wondering, 'why are you so bloodthirsty about this?'

Whenever you're dealing with the collective, remember: the collective has to engage the collective; it can't act like a private individual. Only when the collective cares about society as a whole, or about a specific community around it, will its contribution be respected. On the personal level, these people can only really sit and wait to be asked. If you have to live or work alongside this kind of capacity, learn to appreciate it — asked directly, this person can help you enormously; correcting what's broken is genuinely their job. Understanding how they operate matters both for the people dealing with this energy and for the people carrying the cross themselves, who need to recognize their demands won't land well if simply thrown at others — that just doesn't work, because this is gate 52, whose job is to be passive, to wait, and whose entire power comes precisely through that passivity.
