The Left Angle Cross of Demands (Version 2)

This is the natural continuation of the first variation of Demands. This cross essentially says: 'fine, you need my life force, but I need it myself too. You need my energy, but I need it as well. You want to borrow from me to start a new project, but I want the same thing.' There's a constant stack of demands here — different, though, from the demands we saw with the Sun in gate 52.

Those earlier demands concerned whether there was enough energy to launch a project and claim a key position in it. Gate 58 is built to supply energy for challenge and talent — to actually carry something out and gain skill. So the demands here arise from an unconscious stance: 'yes, I can share my personal life force with you. Yes, I can open access to my wonderful energy — but only if you meet a set of conditions first.'

At the sixth line of this left angle, these people start issuing demands very early in life, thanks to a third-line theme underneath. They become entrenched pessimists, convinced no one wants to give them what they're asking for — which happens, in part, because they're not yet living their Type. Anyone carrying corrective depth or corrective energy who isn't living their Type will crash early, trying to make corrections at the wrong time in the wrong place, and simply frustrating everyone around them. Because of the sixth line, they go through a long stretch of trial and error, broken bones and setbacks.

They climb onto the roof during their Saturn Return and watch the world to see who will actually meet their demands, and how. In that position, they can develop real authority around helping others make demands and get what they actually need from life — genuinely valuable in that respect. When they come down off the roof at the Chiron Return, they need to be able to make demands for themselves too: 'no, I won't give you access to my energy.'

If you carry energy-holding gates that other people find attractive, you're not obligated to release that energy running around like a headless chicken. It can be a different kind of energy — it can be wealth. In our current age, it very often is wealth. So gates 58 and 52 frequently ask for money, because money is the modern equivalent of energy. 58.6 is the person who inherits something, and then, around twenty-three or twenty-four, someone leaves them without a cent — they aimed their energy at the wrong things, never made the right demands, never struck the right deal, and eventually they simply burn out.

With any sixth line, remember the chaos of the first twenty-eight years of life. This matters enormously in raising children: if your child carries a sixth line in their Profile, recognize they may face health problems and relationship difficulties early — these are the people who sometimes die young. They genuinely need to be raised and cared for properly.
