The first time around, the theme was usurpation, seizing power — not necessarily having the right to it, but being able to get there and take it. One way to do that is by manipulating the past. Think of a Shakespearean intrigue built on disinformation: let A and B destroy each other, so that C ends up dominant. Part of the world genuinely runs on this.
Left angles have real influence over society because they're always tied to other people, which means they can always seduce someone into a position. Caution is warranted here, the same way it is with the Cross of Confusion in Juxtaposition — if you're not paying attention, how this cross presents the past to you can be misleading, even harmful. It isn't malice; that's simply how they're built. Maybe you're the one out of step, and they're just clearing you off the path — it's all relative. What matters is seeing that they manipulate the past for material and authoritative ends.
On a tangent: I never studied astrology, but based on what I know about how Human Design maps onto the Wheel, no zodiac sign is more complex than Virgo. Look at its gates — 59, 40, 64, 47, 6, touching also 46 — and you find the Channel of Intimacy and the abstract mental channel. It's the most complicated sign, and in many ways the crux of life itself, since we reproduce through it; 59/6 carries the sequence of lives into the world. Virgo is something special.
