Gate 45 is the only outlet for the whole tribal process. Accordingly, it carries enormous importance as part of our evolutionary process. Somewhere far, far in the future there will come a time when gate 45 becomes conscious and merges into what we currently regard as the Ajna process. It matters enormously. In the throat, this is the only voice of pure ownership, and therefore the only place where the manifestation of possession takes place. Having and not having, receiving and not receiving, being able to manage or not — all of this belongs to the nature of gate 45. It's also the gate of Action. Gate 45 connects directly to the Ego, and in this respect it's very different from gates 35 and 12, which connect to the Solar Plexus. It doesn't run on an emotional wave. It runs on Ego energy, which we call willpower, or, in its negative expression, egotism. Gate 45 is the gate of the tribal leader. It has nothing to do with the collective leadership of gate 31. This is the head of the tribe, the chief by right of blood. This is the king and the queen, the lord and the lady, the ruling family within a community, every kind of blood-based hierarchy.

Over the lines it says: the natural, and usually beneficial, attraction of similar forces. The key word here is benefit. That's the nature of gate 45. It's a responsibility placed on people of royal blood, whether or not they hold high office, whether or not they possess power and wealth, whether or not they wear a crown or sit on a throne. Their power and their strength lie in the fact that they bring benefit to their tribe. And as long as these people remain useful, they can indulge in any excess and satisfy their desires however they like. They carry a special value for as long as their usefulness to the tribe stays obvious.
