The difference between firm, enlightened leadership and simple domination is whether the certainty stays open to being wrong. Firmness rooted in real values can still hear a better argument; domination just enforces itself.
The trap is mistaking the strength of your conviction for proof that it's correct. When your own vision starts to feel like the only legitimate one, you stop being a leader and start being an obstacle to everyone else's input.
