That declaration gives an undertaking weight. While an idea stays unspoken, it's easy to quietly abandon it, but once you declare it openly, a responsibility arises to carry at least the first stage through to the end — and that pushes you toward real action.
Declaring a start publicly is a risk: now a failure would be visible to others. But it's exactly that risk that makes the intention serious — it's worth accepting this discomfort as part of the price of making an undertaking real instead of leaving it a secret dream.
